Karl Allen Dufendach, age 27, died on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he was the son of Paul E. and Patricia Swain Dufendach of Berlin.

He also survived by his brothers, James Dufendach and his wife, Miranda, of Hebron, and Matthew Center and his wife, Lauren, of St. Augustine Beach, Florida, and sister, Ashley Baker and her husband, David, of Marriottsville, Maryland.

There are two nephews, August Center and Paul Rhem Baker, and a niece, Addison Baker. Preceding him in death was a brother, John C. Center, in 2006.

Karl was a 2008 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School where he enjoyed music and drama. He was a talented guitar and bass player who was endlessly curious. Karl was a self-made expert on organic foods and kombucha brewing. He was an avid traveler, explorer and camper who made friends easily and will be missed by many people all over the world.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at 2 p.m., at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 3 Church St. Berlin, Maryland 21811.
