(May 19, 2017) More than 50 volunteers from Keller Williams Realty spent the day last Thursday working on various projects at Diakonia.

“Joel Feldman and his team showed up ready to work and were able to accomplish all the projects they had scheduled,” said Anna O’Neill, communications coordinator for Diakonia. “We can’t say thank you enough to each and every team member for supporting our organization with their work ethic and commitment to Diakonia.”

From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Keller Williams’ employees partnered with Diakonia in West Ocean City, for its annual “Red Day,” where the largest brokerage in the country gives back to local communities and nonprofits.

“We decided to partner with Diakonia. We are here for the day,” Feldman said. “We have a crew painting, people organizing the food pantry and guys landscaping and cutting the hedges. Another group of volunteers are helping to clean and organize the thrift store.”

Keller Williams Realty employees also plan on having toy, food, coat, scarf and glove drives throughout the year to help Diakonia, a nonprofit providing food, housing and counseling to area residents in need.

“Keller Williams’ ‘Red Day’ brought 50 volunteers to Diakonia to complete several critical projects around our facilities,” O’Neill said. “We rely on volunteers to complete such tasks, so that we can effectively use our resources to serve the community.”
