Louis Craig Suttka, Sr., age 73, died Sunday June 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loved ones after a long battle with diabetes and kidney disease.

He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Ann Suttka, who had just passed 12 days prior, and his son, Louis Craig Suttka, Jr., who passed away eight years ago.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Debbie Priestley and her husband, Jerry Priestley, who he adored, of Ocean City. There are three grandchildren, Kristie Hope Fogle (Matt), Katie Brooke Priestley (Billy) and Claire Ann Suttka, and one great-grandchild, Finn Harrison Fogle.

He is survived by one sister, Kathy Suttka, of Baltimore.

Craig met the love of his life, Carol, when she was only 13 years old. They had a special love for each other. He attended Catonsville High School and then the Maryland State Police academy in Pikesville, Maryland. He was a Maryland State Trooper for 16 years. Upon retirement he started his own construction company in Ocean Pines known as Showcase Construction.

Craig enjoyed boating, spending time with his family, and his dogs. He had a great love for the Maryland State Police and his close friends, some of which he talked to everyday including, Mr. Richard Zabor, Mr. Bruce Hornung, Mr. Buddy Harrison and Mr. Montrose Lewis.

A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Park in Berlin. Rev. George Patterson officiated. He will be buried next to his wife and son.

The family would like to thank the Coastal Hospice team for making Mr. Craig Suttka and his family so comfortable during such a difficult time.
